Before the parade started a race started; the firecracker 50. 750 bicyclists pro and amatuer from all over the country were in the race (Lance Armstrong raced a few years ago and got beat by a local). 50 miles and a 5300 ft climb twice.
The parade finally started and candy was in abundance. After the parade we hit playground #6 near Keystone lake. I loved this picture when the kids were told to make the horses go.
"Fanfare for the Common Man" became a favorite song the last couple of days of the trip. I didn't realize I had it on my phone and it seemed like majestic song as we headed to fireworks - the kids loved it - enjoy the movie. That movie represents the only use of our camera on the drive home.

that video cracks me up!!! looks like you had a great vacation.
Love the fourth of july attire and the "go horsey" picture is the best! They are so into it! the pic of the boys holding their ears because of the fire trucks cracks me up...hmm reminds me of last summer's train ride:) Looks like fun was had by all in the cool Colorado mountains. You guys know how to have a great time...waiting for the book "Playgrounds of Summit County" to be at Barnes and Noble soon. Oh, and last year Paul ran the same trail as the firecracker 50 (the run right before the parade) and it was horrible to run on with switchbacks, let alone riding it on a bike. Thanks for all of the details of the trip...we really enjoyed reading it!!
