Exciting times in the neighborhood

Could there be anything more exciting than a cement truck practically in our front yard? Clearly our kids were thinking just that when lawn chairs were drug from the garage for this big event.

A bunch of houses in the neighborhood are having to break up their driveways, fill in the lack of
proper backfill, and repour. Our day for this project is coming.

School happenings

Tuesday was a big day for Bethany. Tina was one of the drivers for a trip to the downtown Library and a picnic. Then in the evening was a school program. Bethany did a wonderful job remembering the words, actions, and when to fly the flag during certain songs; it was an excellent patriotic musical involving 1-3rd grade. Bethany is at the bottom right if you click on the musical picture to see it bigger (you may have to scroll to the right).

He is Risen!

Today we read from Luke 6 about the empty tomb and that Jesus is Risen! To celebrate we pulled the empty cross out of the sand and decorated our centerpiece. Together we said "the Lord is Risen indeed"

Easter with Doells

Yesterday was a great day with the Doells. Everyone came over for hamburgers and an egg hunt. Fun!

Good Friday

Last night we went to church for Maundy Thursday service. The lights were low and it was a good time of remembrance of what happened many years ago for you and I. Today as we remembered Good Friday with the kids we buried the cross in symbolism that Jesus died and was put under ground. But we had the promise that he would rise again. The empty cross will symbolically rise also from our table centerpiece this weekend.

Easter Week day 3

We didn't get a picture of last nights devotional; which involved tearing up pieces of paper that the kids had drawn about anger on.

Tonight was on the Last Supper. The kids were asked about someone inviting 12 people over to our house and inviting Jesus into our house and even our heart. We also touched on sharing. To symbolize that for the passover feast there were twelve people and Jesus we added 12 people to the box.

Easter Week day 1

Tonight we started walking through a one week devotional prepared for the children of our church. The story tonight was about Mary (not His mother) anointing Jesus with expensive perfume. We smelled a good smelling candle while we drew pictures of/as gifts for Jesus and put them around the centerpiece for the week (a cross and two little candles).

Elliana came to visit

On Sunday Paul, Tammy, and Elliana, and Grandma and Grandpa came over for the day. Abby and Elliana spent much time together; Abby holding her cousin every chance she got.

Bethany enjoyed some snuggles too:
